Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF)
MHRP is a collaboration with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF). This work is supported by the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs endorsed by the Department of Defense, through the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) - under Award No. HT9425-24-3-0004. The long-standing partnership with HJF has enabled MHRP to excel scientifically and develop state-of-the-art labs and clinical research sites in Africa and Asia.
A global nonprofit advancing military medicine, HJF was chartered by Congress and is a trusted partner in medical research and health initiatives that benefit members of the US Armed Forces, their families, and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, it has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. For MHRP, HJF plays a critical role facilitating partnerships with hundreds of collaborators within the US and internationally.
Leveraging its extensive experience in international health and military medicine, HJF has built a top-quality MHRP scientific team, and oversees all aspects of program operations including executing contracts, managing finances, directing communication, and managing international laboratory and clinical operations.
HJF and its subsidiary, HJFMRI, also work with WRAIR, foreign militaries and local partners to implement comprehensive PEPFAR-supported HIV prevention, care and treatment programs in Africa (cooperative agreement #HT94252420020). Through these activities, HJF has helped build national and regional capacity within Africa and is effectively transitioning the ownership and implementation of HIV care and treatment programs to local governments and militaries.
