MHRP Scientists and Collaborators Presenting at AIDS 2016


The AIDS 2016 conference will be held in Durban, South Africa, July 18-22. Read on to learn more about MHRP oral and poster presentations and well as special sessions that include MHRP speakers. Saturday, July 16 —Towards and HIV Cure: Engaging the Community workshop, 9:00 a.m. Dr. Jintanat Ananworanich will participate in a panel discussion at this workshop on the research priorities set in the IAS Global Scientific Strategy and key topics pertinent to HIV cure research. —HIV Pediatric workshop, Session 7, 4:45 p.m. Dr. Jintanat Ananworanich will moderate a roundtable discussion about research priorities in pediatric HIV cure. Sunday, July 17 —Towards and HIV Cure: Novel Strategies for HIV Cure, Session 3, 12:15 p.m. Dr. Jintanat Ananworanich will present on her experiences in cure research and participate in discussion. —UN 90-90-90 Target workshop, Session IV, 3:00 p.m. The Division of AIDS is hosting a series of discussions focusing on research, program, policy, implementation and progress-to-date related to the 90-90-90 target. Dr. Peter Coakley, MHRP’s Associate Director for Medical Affairs, will present on his implementation experiences with AFRICOS. Monday, July 18 —Johnson & Johnson community lecture, 7:00 p.m. Col. Nelson Michael is an invited speaker to discuss progress toward a preventative HIV vaccine at the Johnson & Johnson HIV Advocacy Community Lecture. Tuesday, July 19 —Poster discussion, 1:00 p.m. Dr. Morgane Rolland will present in an oral poster discussion session featuring her abstract, “Characterization of HIV-1 genomes from 74 acutely infected subjects in the acute infection cohort RV217.” The session will cover HIV transmission and pathogenesis topics. Thursday, July 21 —Poster discussion, 1:p.m. Dr. Mark Manak will present in an oral poster discussion featuring his abstract, “Stability of HIV serological markers collected by HemaSpot or dried blood spots.” The session is titled Optimizing Laboratory Diagnostics.
