MHRP Collaborator
I have been working as a staff in the Vaccine Trial Centre (VTC) and Department of Clinical Tropical Medicine, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Thailand for 20 years. I oversee 4 academic areas: research, service, teaching, and administration.
Research: As a senior staff in the Department, I have been a co-investigator of many national and international trials. My main responsibilities consist of reviewing and revising essential documents, screening and enrolling volunteers, evaluating the quality of the vaccines, monitoring safety and reporting any adverse effects while preparing for conference proceedings or writing papers for publication. Most of my work engages many stakeholders during the research process. Some examples of vaccine trials that I had been involved are - A phase 3 randomized placebo-controlled trial, evaluating a prime-boost vaccine strategy using ALVAC prime accompanied by a boost with AIDSVAX B/E (RV144) - A phase 3 HPV vaccine study to evaluate the safety, immune response, and efficacy of Gardasil; an evaluation of a 48 week ALVAC-HIV AIDSVAX B/E Vaccination regimen in Thailand - A phase 2/3, randomized controlled to assess the safety and immunogenicity of a recombinant acellular pertussis vaccine containing genetically inactivated pertussis toxin and filamentous haemagglutinin in combination with tetanus and reduced-dose diphtheria vaccines (TdaP[PTgen/FHA]). - An open-label, randomized study to compare the immune responses elicited by intramuscular and intradermal injections with inactivated seasonal influenza vaccine among the older age group.
Over the last 5 years, several peer-reviewed articles and international conference proceeding on a topic of vaccine were published.
