Dr. Marco Missanga is a Research Scientist and Specialist Physician working with National Institute for Medical Research in Tanzania. He has a background as a Medical Doctor, a holder of Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine and currently a PhD candidate in Neglected Tropical Diseases (Neurocysticercosis). He has about 13 years of experience in clinical research and operational implementation studies working with local investigators and international collaborators. He is participating in guidelines development in HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B at national level. Currently, is a Principal investigator in number of ongoing studies including RV584 trial “A phase 1b/2a clinical trial of a novel long-acting bispecific antibody to treat HIV-1 infection”. He is also a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam-Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences (UDSM-MCHAS) at the department of Internal Medicine.
