Dr. Michael Eller is a distinguished scientist with a history of research in infectious disease immunology and translational vaccine development. Currently serving as the Branch Chief for the Vaccine Translational Research Brach in the Vaccine Research Program (VRP) at the Division of AIDS, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Eller oversees the development and transition of NIH-funded HIV vaccines from concept to clinical trials. With a portfolio management approach, Dr. Eller evaluates scientific progress, identifies gaps in the vaccine landscape, and spearheads initiatives to accelerate novel vaccine platforms. Prior to this role, Dr. Eller held significant positions at the US Military HIV Research Program/Henry M. Jackson Foundation, where he directed flow cytometry and cellular immune monitoring cores, executed immunologic research, and led international collaborations. With a PhD in immunology from the Karolinska Institutet, Dr. Eller has co-authored numerous impactful publications, demonstrating an H-index of 30 and a total of 3364 citations as of 2024. His commitment to advancing vaccine development and understanding infectious diseases has positioned him as a respected leader in the field, with a lasting impact on both academia and public health initiatives.
