U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria Visits Defense Health Club

The U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Robin Renée Sanders, presented equipment purchased by the U.S. Government to Mogadishu Cantonment’s Defense Health Club, a support group for People Living with HIV/AIDS. Community Relations: Uganda Participates in Kampala Marathon

The Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) in Uganda recently participated in the Kampala Marathon. This Marathon attracted a total of 10,800 participants, and MUWRP fielded 30 participants on a corporate team.

Training for HIV diagnosis and treatment monitoring in Nigeria

The DoD HIV Program - Nigeria facilitated two training workshops on HIV diagnosis and treatment monitoring for medical laboratory scientists in Nigeria. New HIV Counseling and Testing Clinic Opens in Tanzania

On January 7, 2009,  a Tanzania People’s Defense Forces (TPDF) health center in Kigamboni officially opened as a Counseling and Testing Clinic (CTC) after undergoing renovations, which were coordinated by MHRP with PharmAccess International.

In the next year, Walter Reed Program-Tanzania plans to renovate more than ten TPDF health centers around the country.
